I am counting down the days until Spring! Unfortunately the groundhog saw his shadow last week, so we have another 6 weeks of winter left. We can always distract ourselves from the bitter cold weather and start getting our wardrobes ready with the biggest Spring trends- one being the asymmetrical skirt. The asymmetrical skirt is flowy and light-weight making it perfect to wear on a warm, sunny day. Showing just enough leg and resting high on the hips, it creates a very flattering silhouette. It's also a very versatile piece which can be worn with boots for a edgy look or with a pair of heels or wedges for a girly look. Don't forget other accessories that will complete your outfit like a floppy hat, big sunglasses, or a crossbody bag. These are some asymmetrical skirts that I'm dying to have! What do you think about this trend for Spring? Are there any other trends you're excited for?

I've been back in New York for about a week now. I've really enjoyed catching up with friends and going to some of my favorite NYC spots like Highline Park in Chelsea. My friend Liz took me to a fantastic Venezuelan restaurant called Caracas Arepa Bar in the Lower East Side. I definitely recommend it! I also started my classes for spring semester. I think I'm really going to enjoy Merchandising for E-Commerce and Computer Aided Product Development. In Computer Aided Product Development I will be learning how to draw sketches in Adobe Illustrator. I've never done anything like that before so I'm really looking forward to learning something new. Yesterday my friend Brittany and I went to Buffalo Exchange in Chelsea and found some really cute stuff for so cheap! Buffalo Exchange is a second hand store where you can buy and sell apparel and accessories. The staff is very selective when deciding what to buy from customers- everything has to be the correct colors and trends for the season and garments must be lightly worn. Buffalo Exchange has locations all over the U.S.- click here to see if there's a store near you. My favorite item I bought yesterday was a lace Alice and Olivia skirt for only $30! I also bought a high low skirt by Noble U for $20.50 and floral top by Angie for $9.50. Being back at FIT and being surrounded by so many of my creative and fashionable peers is so inspiring. This newfound inspiration has spark some topics for future blog posts, so definitely check back each week for new posts :)
