From Summer to Fall

Dress: Love Fire (Nordstrom)  Jacket: H&M  Bag: Michael Kors

The first official day of fall is tomorrow! The temperature has already started dropping here in NYC and the sweaters are coming out. But don't start packing away your summer wardrobe just yet! A sundress paired with a jacket makes the perfect outfit for this summer to fall transition time. When I saw this dress I immediately fell in love with the details- the asymmetrical hemline, open back, and lace top. I also think the beige, purple, brown, and orange in the floral print create such a pretty autumn color palette. The only other thing I need with this outfit is a Pumpkin Spice Latte....YUM! Happy fall :)

Boots NOT Budget

Hello Fashionistas! I'm finally back in NYC for my fall semester. I just started classes this week and I confess I have a little bit of seniorits. I'm so close, yet so far to being finished with my college career. It's so weird to think about! Anyway, something that does excite me about this fall are the boots! When browsing the stores I noticed that details on boots are really important this season. Plain, classic boots are great, but this season it is all about embellishments and flash. Studs and sequins are especially popular. Unfortunately for those of us on a budget these details make the cost of boots pretty pricey. Because of this, the boots that I decided to share below are not in my usual affordable price range. Sorry ladies I couldn't help myself! A girl has got to splurge once in a while :)

Nine West: $139.00

Topshop: $160.00

Jessica Simpson: $139.00

Aldo: $120.00

Steve Madden: $169.95
These have no embellishments, but I LOVE them!

Stay Sexy and Cool With the Cropped Bustier

Worn by the sexiest stars such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Jordana Brewster the cropped bustier has proven to be a must have for this summer! Paired with high waisted bottoms, this piece shows the perfect amount of skin and keeps you cool on those hot summer nights. Bustiers can be worn so many different ways. If you want a boho look, pair it a maxi skirt and a fringe bag or if you're going for more of an edgy look pair it with high waisted denim shorts and a leather jacket. In addition, many bustiers also showcase your back with cut outs and lace details giving another hint of sex appeal. Below are a collection of bustiers that will make you stand out anywhere you go.

Control Bustier- $38

Denim Floral Bustier- $25.95

Color Geometric Bustier- $15.90

Lace Crop Bustier- A'GACI: $17.50

I Love Colored Denim!

Lately all I've been hearing about is denim, denim, and more denim- hence the inspiration for this post. Bright colors are a huge trend for this summer and they have appeared on shirts, bags, shoes, and of course jeans. If you've ever felt bored with your wardrobe, colored denim is a great way to mix it up and add some excitement. I have a pair of coral colored skinny jeans from Express that I really love and they go great with a white top and a classic blue denim jacket. Below are some other colorful pairs that I would like to share with you!

PacSun Bullhead Black Colored Skinny Jeans: $35
Lulu's Moves Like Jagger Fuschia Pink Leggings: $42

Where There is Heat, There are Pleats

Hello Everyone! I can proudly tell you that I survived finals week. To be honest though, I didn't just survive I kicked butt! I have one more final on Monday and then I'm FREE. I'm getting so excited for summer and I really like all the new trends I've seen in the stores. One that I am particularly loving is pleating. I've seen pleating in every way, shape, and form possible this season- in tops, skirts, dresses, pants, and accessories. Pleating is great because it adds lightweight texture to your typical cotton summer wardrobe. Perfect for day or night, this is one trend you must have! Below are some pieces  that stood out to me.

Summer Dreamin'

The countdown to summer break has officially begun! There are only 34 more days left of my semester. I'm always excited for summer because it is my favorite season and I get to enjoy 3 months with my family. However, I am especially looking forward to this summer because I will be interning for a great fashion company on the coast. I am so honored to be given this opportunity and I plan to learn as much as I can while I'm there. The condo I will be living in is also about 10 minutes from the beach. I get to spend my summer learning about fashion while living at the beach. I am one lucky girl! I've been thinking of about the perfect summer wardrobe. Here are some items that I would like to be wearing:

My 21st Birthday

Hi everyone! I apologize again for not blogging in a while. I had my birthday, then it was my spring break, and then I got sick. Anyway, I wanted to share some photos of my 21st birthday with all of you. I had an absolute blast with my friends and family and got some really great gifts that I can't wait to show you!

I celebrated my birthday with my NYC friends the weekend before. I'm holding presents that my roommates gave me :)

My mom ordered these cupcakes for my friends and I to eat at dinner. She is so sweet. I ate the peanut butter and chocolate ganache one- it was absolutely amazing!

My friends and I ate dinner at our favorite sushi restaurant in the lower east side. It was such a great night!

Beautiful birthday presents from Wendy and Brittany. They always get me the best gifts!

My first drink on my actual birthday! I got a mojito.

Some birthday presents I bought myself from the Style Shop at FIT.

My family took me to an Asian restaurant called Grace's Mandarin at the National Harbor in Maryland. The food was excellent and this gigantic Buddha statue was quite impressive!

Our table overlooked the Potomac River. I couldn't have asked for a better view!

 Love my sister <3

I ordered a drink called a Wa-Wa Tini. It was so pretty I almost didn't want to drink it!

After lunch we went shopping. My parents bought me this bag from Fossil as a birthday gift. I love the color and it has that great leather smell! Thank you Ma and Daddy :)

Starla and James took me to a bar outside of D.C. called the Clarendon Grill. A cover band named Tripp Fabulous played. They were awesome! There's nothing better than singing my favorite 90s jams with my sister. It was the perfect way to end a week of celebrating!
